Aylmer has lost one of its builders
(Gatineau, January 31st, 2011) -I was saddened to learn of the passing yesterday evening of Dennis Foran, a pillar of the community in our part of the City. Since November 2009, I had the chance to work with him at the Interclubs Aylmer and several times during gatherings at the Aydelu Centre, and I want to say that he was an extraordinary colleague and man who was profoundly attached to the Aylmer community, just as the community was also very attached to him. I shall always remember his sense of humour and his great humility. Dennis will continue to be a model for me. My deepest sympaties to his wife Pauline, his children, his brother Frank and all of his family.

After yesterday’s recount, I was given the winning vote: 1789 to 1788.
I would like to commend Mr. Frank Thérien for the years that he spent in the service of his fellow citizens. One must live through an election campaign from the inside to know what determination, self-sacrifice and courage that public service requires. I am grateful for the grace with which he recognized yesterday’s results.

Your financial support
I have just received a call from the DGEQ (4:20 pm), who received a complaint that finally was unfounded about my explanation of the two ways that you can support me financially. I am rewriting it more simply for those who had not understood or who would have thought that it was a violation of the law (we had previously informed ourselves with the DGEQ):
1- It is still possible to make a donation to my campaign fund (the electoral law allows until January 29, 2010). In this case, you are entitled to a receipt for tax purposes that is equivalent to 75% of your donation - up to $ 105 - (see details here). For this, you must be a resident of Gatineau to donate.
2- You can choose to make a contribution to my challenging fund. In this case, you make your check payable to my name (to the same address) and you do not receive a receipt, but a most sincere “thank you” from me! You can support regardless of where you live as it is not subject to the electoral law.
I am very grateful for the support you have shown me by voting for me and I would be honored to represent you!
